Following the launch of the Motorola ROKR E2 at Music Matters Hong Kong in May, Chinese consumers will be the first in the world to buy the music-optimized mobile handset at GOME outlets across the PRC, available now.
Recently named China's most valuable home appliance retailer by World Brand Lab, GOME is the ideal destination for young and style-conscious consumers to purchase electronic and mobile devices.
"The global debut of the ROKR E2 at GOME is a key result of the strategic partnership we have with Motorola," said Wang Junzhou, vice general manager of GOME Home Appliances and general manager of Strategy & Co-operation Center. "The ROKR E2 is already a hit at GOME, after only a few days on the market, the ROKR E2 is one of the best selling handsets at GOME."
The E2 has a 3.5mm standard headset jack and dedicated music player keys to access music that allows users to store songs on any removable SD card.
"Early ROKR E2 results already exceeded Motorola's expectations. It is the handset of choice for mobile music enthusiasts who want to carry just one device that keeps them connected and in tune with the fast pace of their lives," said Michael Tatelman, Motorola corporate vice president and general manager, North Asia Mobile Devices.
ROKR E2 features an MP3 player compatible with a variety of
different audio formats, giving users the ability to download and play MP3, WAV, AAC files and more. Dedicated music keys on the handset's side and front let users navigate playlists, play/pause, skip backward/forward, and hold.
With a USB 2.0 cable, it takes just seconds to transfer a song from PC to ROKR E2.
Connection can also be achieved via a standard 3.5mm headset or wirelessly via the built-in stereo Bluetooth audio connection. Motorola also has a range of music accessories to optimize the ROKR E2 experience including the newly announced O ROKR Eyewear, Bluetooth DJ Headphones S805, and JBL OnTour Mobile. Additionally, ROKR E2 comes with airplane mode, allowing safe listening while flying. Other multimedia features include a 1.3 megapixel camera for pictures, video capture and playback.

RIM BlackBerry 7130c
Research in Motion's BlackBerry 7100 series was a new direction for the company, offering its customers a more compact and consumer-friendly device with the familiar BlackBerry functionality. The line has continued to evolve over the past year, and its latest model, the RIM BlackBerry 7130c, is a winner. It offers many of the features found in its siblings, such as a speedy Intel processor, robust e-mail capabilities, a sharp screen, and Bluetooth, but it also boasts a more refined and lightweight form factor that makes it the best-designed model we've seen to date. You may be thinking, "Great, it has a nice design, but how does it perform?" The answer: very well. It's an excellent phone and e-mail device with EDGE capability and a vast range of features. The RIM BlackBerry 7130c is a great smart phone for mobile professionals and consumers alike who need to stay connected on the road. It's now available through Cingular for a fair price of $199 with a two-year contract.
The RIM BlackBerry 7130c has a great design, plain and simple. Though the 7100 series has always had a compact form factor, the BlackBerry 7130c most closely resembles a candy bar phone in look and feel. It's sleek (4.5 by 2.1 by 0.7 inches) and incredibly light (4.2 ounces), which makes it comfortable to hold up to your ear for conversations. As a bonus, the handset is attractive, with an appealing silver and midnight blue color scheme.
The 7130c's 2.25-inch (diagonal) screen dominates the face of device and displays 65,000 colors at 240x260 resolution. It's not quite the 320x240 pixels of its full QWERTY cousin, the BlackBerry 8700c, but the 7130c still shows off sharp images and text. It's also equipped with light-sensing technology that automatically adjusts the backlighting depending on your environment, and unlike that of many other phones, the display is readable in sunlight. Customization options are plentiful, including the ability to change the backlight time and the font family, style, and size, as well as to turn antialiasing on or off.

Nokia 6151 3G Mobile Phone
Nokia has introduced the 6151 - a mobile phone that makes 3G affordable to the mass market. The company reckons it well sell for around £164 sim-free when it becomes available to retailers later this year.
One thing the 6151 can't do is video calling - there's no front-mounted camera on the phone. But apart from that, it pretty much covers everything else adequately. Features include a rear-mounted 1.3MP camera with 4x digital zoom and video capture ability, music and video playback, an FM radio with Nokia's Visual Radio technology, Bluetooth ships as standard and push-to-talk for networks that support it.

Mobile TV Will Reach 102 Million by 2010
By the end of 2010, mobile TV broadcast subscribers worldwide will reach 102 million, a massive jump from 3.4 million in 2006, according to a report.
Recognising that using cellular networks to deliver content that millions want to watch simultaneously requires much greater bandwidth than is currently available, carriers are turning to mobile TV broadcast networks, which have a much lower cost per bit for video delivery, according to market research company, In-Stat.
"The greatest challenge for mobile TV broadcast operators is to acquire the spectrum necessary to offer services," says Michelle Abraham, In-Stat analyst. "Spectrum availability may determine which of four standards is chosen, and also impacts the business case for the deployment of a network."
Mobile carriers, mobile TV network operators, and content providers will soon be testing business models to determine what mobile phone subscribers are willing to pay to watch and what advertisers are willing to pay to reach them.

Alongside 84 other winners of the Gold celly-emblazoned wall piece, which symbolizes 500,000 units moved, and 40 members who sold over 1 million ringtones to claim Platinum status, Ross detailed how the music industry is constantly in motion. The Miami rapper stated, "The ring tones are just another gateway to connecting with the kids and the fans. That's just the next level." Furthermore, RIAA Chairman Mitch Bainwol cited, "Just a few short years ago, it was unthinkable for sales on ringtones to go platinum. But here we are. We're transforming the way we hear music."Other artists honored in download sales includes heavyweights such as Kanye West, 50 Cent, Beyonce, the Black Eyed Peas, and more.
